Cilantro Garlic Scape Pesto


  • 1 bunch Garlic scapes (cut into pieces)
  • 1 bunch Cilantro
  • 1 cup Cashews (or other nut of choice)
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
  • Oil of choice (olive recommended)
  • 1 Lime
  • Salt & pepper to taste

In a food processor puree the garlic scapes and cilantro with a drizzle of oil. Squeeze in the juice of half the lime and add the cheese before continuing to blend. Pour in cashews and add oil until it reaches your desired consistency. If preferred juice the other half of the lime and add salt and pepper to taste.

Serve with fresh CSA veggies or use as a salad dressing


Buttered Broccoli Rabe with Radishes


  • 1 tbsp Unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp Oil of choice
  • 1/2 bunch Green onions (chopped into 2-inch pieces)
  • 1 bunch Radishes (quartered)
  • 1 bunch Broccoli rabe (chopped into 1-inch pieces)
  • 1/2 cup Broth of choice (chicken or veggie)
  • 1 tsp Lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley (optional)
  • Salt & pepper to taste

In a large skillet heat the butter and oil over medium heat. Add the green onions and cook about 2 minutes. Add the radishes and cook another minute. Pour the contents of the skillet into a bowl and set aside.

Into the hot pan add the broccoli rabe, broth, salt and lemon juice. Cook until the broccoli rabe is tender. Stir in the radish mix and garnish with fresh parsley.

Serve immediately
